Exdon.com Escrow Service
Our Escrow service can protect domain buyers and sellers from fraud.
What is escrow
A third party service that will essentially hold on to the buyer’s payment when selling a domain name, and release the payment to the seller only when confirmation has been received that the buyer has full ownership and control of the domain name. This protects both the buyer and seller.
The Escrow Process
How does it work?
- Buyer and Seller Agree to Terms
Both parties agree to the terms of the transaction, which includes sale price, method of domain transfer (push/pull or external transfer to another registrar), and the bearer of any fees or charges. - Buyer Pays the escrow, Widest Media (Exdon.com)
The Buyer submits payment via Paypal (or wire transfer for transaction amounts exceeding $10,000). The buyer will also need to pay any payment processing fees, unless the seller has agreed to bear such costs. If the seller agrees to bear such costs, these costs/fees will be deducted from the final payment that will be remitted to the seller upon completion of the sale. - Seller Ships Merchandise
Upon payment verification, the Seller is authorized to initiate the domain transfer process. Exdon.com may give assistance and guidance where necessary and applicable. - Buyer Accepts the Merchandise
Based on the terms of agreement between the seller and the buyer, the buyer will full all requirements on their part to ensure a speedy and efficient domain transfer. Exdon.com verifies that the Buyer has full control and ownership of domain name. - Widest Media (Exdon.com) Pays the Seller
Widest Media (Exdon.com) pays the Seller by the method selected by the Seller. The transaction is complete. The seller will bear any costs associated with remitting funds to them.
What are the benefits?
How Buyers are protected:- Exdon.com will monitor the transfer process and continuously liaise with the seller to ensure a smooth domain transfer.
- The Seller isn't paid until the Buyer or Who-is information confirms that the domain has been transferred to buyer.
How Sellers are protected:
- The Seller is authorized to transfer the domain only after Widest Media (Exdon.com) verifies receipt of funds.
- Exdon.com confirms when the Buyer has full control and ownership of the domain name.
- The Seller receives payment after independent confirmation of domain transfer.
